Students interested in research centered on agricultural or urban sustainability should contact me. Presently, my students are working on water and soil analyses to understand and improve regional soil and water resource management.
Dr. Fortner is part of the Agroecosystem Critical Zone Research Cluster at The Ohio State University.
Wittenberg NEWS FEATURE on Dr. Fortner
My mission is to understand and advocate for earth resource sustainability. To do this, I work with students on soil, water, and environmental issues on and near the Wittenberg University campus in Springfield, Ohio. I also work with long-term research programs that evaluate how resources change through time.

During the Fall of 2013, I will pilot student-centered Agricultural Sustainability Curriculum (funded by the National Science Foundation & students will work with the city stormwater Manager.
Environmental Science Methods (ES 200) will work with Springfield's Lead Safe Program (Fall 2013).
